“DigiYouth Initiative 4.0” Programme
YEAR
2023

The “ReGeneration DigiYouth Initiative 4.0” training programme, a Microsoft partnership with ReGeneration (an initiative by Global Shapers Athens Hub NPO), aims at the holistic professional and personal development of young people, at linking and successfully combining their skills with the ever-changing demands of the modern labour market and at increasing the employability of youth. The programme focuses on empowering young people (up to 29 years old), especially women, who are significantly underrepresented in the field of Technology, by strengthening their soft and digital skills (up/reskilling) and reducing gender inequalities in the labour market. The John S. Latsis Public Benefit Foundation supported as a Strategic Donor the fourth round of the Programme, which was implemented in 2023 and included 3 online training Academies on the following topics related to digital transformation:

  • ReGeneration Academy on Technical Business Analysis 4 Women, an intensive programme aimed at strengthening the female presence in the field of Technology.
  • ReGeneration Academy on CyberSecurity & DevOps Engineering, an innovative academy specialising in network security.
  • ReGeneration Academy on Cloud Tools & Technology vol.4, a training programme offering access to Microsoft digital tools for Web application development.

  • 93 young people completed their training in cutting-edge technologies through the Academies.
  • 44 graduates have been absorbed into permanent job positions by companies across Greece.

“With a core vision of democratising opportunities for young people in our country, since 2014 ReGeneration has been established as the largest training and employment programme for young graduates in Greece. In our relentless effort to broaden our social impact, the John S. Latsis Public Benefit Foundation, recognising both our contribution so far, as well as the prospects that lie ahead, has warmly supported the organisation’s initiatives and more specifically the highly successful Academies that we are implementing in collaboration with Microsoft, starting in 2020, as part of the ‘Gr for Growth’ initiative. Dozens of young people were trained in key areas of the technological market, while at the same time being immersed in the significance of acquiring soft skills that, based on studies and research on a global scale, are now emerging as more important even than technical ones. The absorption of our graduates by the labour market confirms both the right implementation of our already established procedures and the need of the ecosystem for a substantial interconnection, thus overcoming the challenges associated with the 4th Industrial Revolution.”
