With the aim of ensuring effective medical care and psycho-social support for vulnerable social groups, the Mission “ANTHROPOS” NPO implements various programmes in a wide range of activities. In this context, in 2023, with funding from, among others, the John S. Latsis Public Benefit Foundation, the programme “Improving the lives of the elderly II” was implemented with a triple objective: the mobilisation and socialisation of the elderly residing in non-profit Elderly Long-Term Care Units through intergenerational contact with secondary school students, the improvement of their physical condition and functionality through specialised Geriatric Assessment and the training and empowerment of the Units’ caregivers on the prevention and treatment of geriatric syndromes. In addition, with the support of the Foundation, the second cycle of the programme “Mission WOMAN 45+: embracing her needs” was also implemented, whose goal is to prevent and maintain the health of vulnerable women aged 45 years and older, by providing a free comprehensive preventive medical check-up including blood tests and gynecological examinations.

• 58 elderly people from 4 Units were supported as part of the programme “Improving the lives of the elderly II”.
• 29 volunteer students from 5 schools held meetings with the elderly beneficiaries, while 3 Geriatric Assessments were carried out with the support of 4 postgraduate medical students from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens.
• 44 women from vulnerable groups were supported as part of the programme “Mission WOMAN 45+: embracing her needs”.
