Aiming to create a high-quality educational ecosystem to match the new educational and professional reality, the John S. Latsis Public Benefit Foundation supported for the second consecutive year the implementation of the educational programme by the British Council Greece entitled “Skills Clubs – Youth skills for the 21st century”. The Programme aims to support secondary education students (aged 14-18) in developing skills that will help them in view of their future integration into the labour market and society, such as active listening, problem solving, teamwork, critical thinking and cultivate their awareness of entrepreneurship and social innovation. During the school year 2022-2023, the special educational activity manual –created during the first year of the Programme– was enriched (freely available in both the Greek and English language), while experiential educational seminars for teachers and educational workshops for students were also conducted.
During the school year 2022-2023, the Programme was implemented in 112 school classrooms from 10 regions of Greece, with the participation of 2,800 students and 121 educators.
36 action plans with social impact were submitted to the 2nd National Competition for Social Innovation Ideas, which took place at the end of the school year, where 3 teams from Thessaloniki, Athens, and Patra stood out.
2,596 online users across Greece received the special educational activity manual of the Programme.
“The experience was fantastic! The ‘Skills Clubs’ programme was well-organised, targeted and delivered excellent results. We learned and had fun at the same time and that was invaluable!”
