The John S. Latsis Public Benefit Foundation announces to interested parties that, for the 2012-2013 academic year, it intends to grant up to twenty (20) new scholarships to second-year and above undergraduate students of Greek Higher Educational Institutes.

1. PREREQUISITES FOR THE SUBMISSION OF AN APPLICATION

Candidates may submit an application if:

  • They are graduates of a High School of the Prefecture of Ilia, where they completed all 3 years;
  • Their average grade at the AEI where they are studying is at least eight (8.00);
  • They do not need to resit more than 3 subjects;
  • The annual income of their family and/or their personal income, if applicable, for the last 2 years does not exceed thirty thousand euros (EUR 30,000);

Any applications that do not meet the above prerequisites will not be evaluated.

2. SELECTION OF SCHOLARS

A competent Selection Committee of the John S. Latsis Public Benefit Foundation will carry out the evaluation, taking into consideration, in addition to the above prerequisites, the following criteria: origins from the Prefecture of Ilia (priority will be given to these candidates), admission grade to the AEI where they are studying and social criteria. Moreover, the Committee will make the selection with the intention of granting scholarships for studies in a broad range of scientific fields and of supporting students who are likely to return and apply their knowledge in their place of origin on completion of their studies.

3. SUBMISSION OF APPLICATIONS

Candidates can submit their application until Friday, 16 November 2012, through the Scholarship Online System, which will be activated and will be accessible through the Foundation’s website in early November.
