On the occasion of the Tokyo Summer Olympics, the Hellenic Olympic Committee is joining forces with the A. G. Leventis Foundation to implement the Olympic Preparation Scholarship Programme – a programme running since 1999 with the aim at supporting talented young athletes who continue their preparations for the 2020 Olympic Games. The John S. Latsis Public Benefit Foundation is supporting the Programme for the fifth consecutive year with the common vision of supporting excellence, determination and Olympic spirit of Greek and Cypriot athletes.
In that context, this year’s Olympic Preparation Scholarship Programme was expanded in order to support athletes representing all Olympic Sport Federations, recognising the fact that they continue training hard, despite the adverse conditions, in order to be able to deservedly compete with the best of the world in this great celebration of athleticism.
In 2021, the A. G. Leventis Foundation partnered with the Hellenic Olympic Committee and The John S. Latsis Public Benefit Foundation to award 68 scholarships and support a total of 76 athletes representing all 28 Olympic Federations.
