"It Is Our Duty" Social Solidarity Programme

The devastating fires that affected much of the country in August 2007 led the Foundation in the design and implementation of the program "It is our duty", the main axes of which was on the one hand the restoration of fire-stricken areas and on the other hand the prevention of similar situations in the future. The programme was developed over four years and included a series of actions in support of fire stricken people, reconstruction and redevelopment of areas affected by the fires, environmental awareness and forest protection. To this end the Foundation has supported NGOs, local authorities, the Fire Brigade, the Agricultural University of Athens and voluntary civil protection organizations.
