The John S. Latsis Public Benefit Foundation announces that it intends to grant twenty (20) new scholarships to undergraduate second year or subsequent years’ students of Greek Higher Academic Institutions for the academic year 2012-2013.

1. APPLICATION SUBMISSION REQUIRMENTS

Interested individuals may apply provided that:

  • they are graduates of high schools of the Prefecture of Ilia, where they have completed all 3 high school grades
  • have an average grade of at least eight (8,00) at the university of their choice (Higher Academic Institution)
  • have no more than three (3) past year courses pending for examination
  • their annual family income for the last 2 years does not exceed thirty thousand Euros (€ 30.000)

Applications that do not meet the above requirements will not be considered.

 

2. SELECTION OF SCHOLARSHIPS

The selection will be made by a Scientific Committee of the John S. Latsis Public Benefit Foundation, which in addition to the above requirements, will take into account the following criteria: origin from the Prefecture of Ilia – as a priority -, admission grade at the Higher Academic Institution, as well as social criteria. In addition, in the selection process, the Committee will pursue the spread of scholarships over a wide range of scientific fields and support of students who after completing their studies completed their studies are more likely to return and apply their expertise in their place of origin.

 

3. APPLICATION SUBMISSION

Applications, along with digitised copies of supporting documents, must be submitted electronically by Friday 16 November 2012 though the Scholarship online system that will be activated in early November.

 

The list of successful candidates will be published on the Foundation's website on Friday 30 November 2012.
