The support to the “Latsis Foundation Study Abroad Scholarships” Programme, a joint initiative of the John S. Latsis Public Benefit Foundation and Deree – The American College of Greece, has continued during the academic year 2022-2023. Through the Programme, deserving undergraduate Parallel Studies students (Deree students, who study in parallel at Greek Public Universities) and full-time undergraduate Deree students had the opportunity to pursue scholarships that will enable them to travel and participate in study abroad programmes at renowned universities abroad during the summer or Fall/Spring semester. In this framework, scholars have the opportunity to expand their academic knowledge, to acquire necessary skills and to explore different paths of personal development through their socialisation within the multicultural environment offered by leading universities around the world.
19 students earned a scholarship under the “Latsis Foundation Study Abroad Scholarships” Programme during the 2022-2023 academic year, bringing the total number of scholars to 63.
Harvard University, London School of Economics and Political Science, King’s College London and University College London (UCL) are just some of the prestigious educational partner institutions that the scholars attended in the 2022-2023 academic year under the “Latsis Foundation Study Abroad Scholarships” Programme.
The scholars took courses in a wide range of scientific fields, such as Data Science and Machine Learning, Business Strategy and Leadership, Nanotechnology and Medicine, and Cyber Law.
“Receiving this scholarship has been a life-changing experience during my studies abroad. This prestigious scholarship did not only ease the financial challenges of pursuing education in a foreign country, but has also opened doors to many opportunities. The financial support allowed me to focus on my studies without the burden of excessive financial stress and fully immerse myself in the academic and cultural experiences that studying abroad offers. Beyond financial assistance, the Latsis Foundation scholarship allowed me to achieve my educational goals and broaden my perspective, enriched my cultural understanding, and lastly, equipped me with skills that are necessary for my academic and work career.
