The John S. Latsis Public Benefit Foundation announces that it intends to grant twenty (20) new scholarships to undergraduate second year or subsequent years’ students of Greek Higher Academic Institutions for the academic year 2011-2012.
1. APLLICATION SUBMISSION REQUIRMENTS
Interested individuals may apply provided that:
they are graduates of high schools of the Prefecture of Ilia, where they have completed all 3 high school grades
have an average grade of at least eight (8,00) at the university of their choice (Higher Academic Institution)
have no more than three (3) past year courses pending for examination
their annual family income for the last 2 years does not exceed thirty thousand Euros (€ 30.000)
Applications that do not meet the above requirements will not be considered.
First-year students of the academic year 2011-2012 are not eligible to apply. However, once they have completed their first year and if selected as scholarship awardees for the academic year 2012-2013, they will receive retroactive financial support for the first year of their studies.
2. SELECTION OF SCHOLARSHIPS
The selection will be made by a Scientific Committee of the John S. Latsis Public Benefit Foundation, which in addition to the above requirements, will take into account the following criteria: origin from the Prefecture of Ilia – as a priority -, admission grade at the Higher Academic Institution, as well as social criteria. In addition, in the selection process, the Committee will pursue the spread of scholarships over a wide range of scientific fields and support of students who after completing their studies completed their studies are more likely to return and apply their expertise in their place of origin.

The list of successful candidates will be published on the Foundation's website www.latsis-foundation.org on Friday 16 December 2011.
